  4.  Note:  The following is an excerpt from Grant Cameron and T. Scott
  5.         Crain Jr.'s  research paper entitled, "UFOs, MJ-12 AND THE
  6.         GOVERNMENT".  It is a transcript of a phone conversation.
  7.         I have personally spoken with Steinman, and received assurances
  8.         that Walker's replies are accurate.  The transcript was made
  9.         within 10 minutes of the phone call, and was not taken from
  10.         an audio tape.

  19.   This telephone interview took place on August 30, 1987 between
  20.   William Steinman of La Mirada, California, and Dr. Eric Walker
  21.   of State College, Pennsylvania.

  24.     Walker:  Hello.
  25.  
  26.   Steinman:  Hello...this is William Steinman of Los Angeles,
  27.              California.  I am calling in reference to the meetings
  28.              that you attended at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
  29.              in around 1949-1950, concerning the military recovery
  30.              of Flying Saucers, and bodies of occupants.
  31.              Dr. Robert I. Sarbacher (now deceased) related this to
  32.              me.  You and Sarbacher were both consultants to D.R.B.
  33.              in 1950, you were secretary 1950-51.
  34.  
  35.     Walker:  Yes, I attended meetings concerning that subject matter;
  36.              why do you want to know about that?
  37.  
  38.   Steinman:  I believe it is very important subject.  After all, we
  39.              we are talking about the actual recovery of a flying
  40.              saucer (spacecraft) not built or constructed on this
  41.              earth!  And furthermore, we are talking about bodies of
  42.              the occupants from the craft who were analyzed human-like
  43.              beings not of this world!

  45.     Walker:  So...what's there to get all excited about?  Why all the
  46.              concern?
  47.  
  48.   Steinman:  I am not excited, just very concerned.  Here we are
  49.              talking about a subject that the U.S. Government
  50.              officially denies, even going to the extent of actually
  51.              debunking the evidence and discrediting the witnesses.
  52.              Then you sit there and say, "What's there to get all
  53.              excited about?" and "why all the concern."
  54.              Dr. Vannevar Bush, Dr. D.W. Bronk, and others thought it
  55.              was very important and were concerned enough to classify
  56.              the subject ABOVE TOP SECRET, in fact the most highly
  57.              classified subject in the U.S. Government!!
  58.              Did you ever hear of the "MJ-12 Group" and there "Project
  59.              Majestic-12" which was classified as TOP_SECRET/MAJIC?
  60.              I have a copy of President elect D.D. Eisenhower's
  61.              briefing paper on that project, dated November 18, 1952.

  63.     Walker:  Yes, I know of MJ-12.  I have known of them for 40 years.
  64.              I believe that you're chasing after and fighting with
  65.              windmills!!

  67.   Steinman:  Why do you say that?
  68.  
  69.     Walker:  You are delving into a area that you can do absolutely
  70.              nothing about.  So, why get involved with it or all
  71.              concerned about it?  Why don't you just leave it alone
  72.              and drop it?  Forget about it!!

  74.   Steinman:  I am not going to drop it.  I am going all the way with
  75.              this!!

  77.     Walker:  Then...when you find out everything about it, what are
  78.              you going to do?

  80.   Steinman:  I believe that this entire matter has to be brought to
  81.              the public's attention.  The people should know the
  82.              truth!!

  84.     Walker:  It's not worth it!  Leave it alone!!

  86.   Steinman:  Can you remember any of the details pertaining to the
  87.              recovery operations and subsequent analysis of the
  88.              saucers and bodies?
  89.  
  90.     Walker:  I am sure that I have notes concerning those meetings
  91.              at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.  I would have to
  92.              dig them out and read them over in order to jog my
  93.              memory.

  95.   Steinman:  If I write you a letter, will you please answer in as
  96.              much detail as you can remember.  Furthermore, could
  97.              you please xerox those notes for me and send me a copy?

  99.     Walker:  I might.  At least I will keep your letter, will dig
  100.              out my notes, and contemplate answering.  That's the
  101.              best I can say for now.

  103.   Steinman:  Well, Dr. Walker, I will write a letter as soon as
  104.              possible.  Thanks for your valuable time.  Good-bye.
